and took a miracle bath,

"Cotton Castle" Pamukkale

In the southwest of the country, 20 kilometers from the city of Denizli, there is a paradise with natural geothermal springs . On part of the ancient volcanic plateau, rising above the plain at a level of 100 meters, there are 17 mineral springs known since ancient times. People come to the thermal springs to see and capture the fantastic beauty of this unique place and to improve their health in the healing water . Pamukkale is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Attractions

Mineral water, heated by the bowels of the earth, flowed down the slopes of the plateau for thousands of years, forming travertines - small natural pools of bizarre shape with limestone sides. Springs oversaturated with calcium bicarbonate form a pure snow-white sediment on the surface. In addition to calcium, water is rich in other chemical elements and compounds: magnesium, hydrocarbons, sodium sulfate . Over many centuries, this white cover has covered the entire slope of the plateau and looks like a huge mountain of cotton.

Ancient city of Hierapolis

The history of this place begins in the 2nd century , when the Romans, who revered healing natural springs, built a city that later became a resort. Cleopatra herself took healing baths here . “Holy City” is how the name of the city is translated from Greek. On its territory, the Romans, who knew a lot about spectacle and theater, created an amphitheater that could accommodate 15,000 people. Temple of Apollo built in 206. Religious buildings dedicated to the God of Light were erected in seismically active places, where special vapors emerged from a fracture in the earth’s crust. The priests, to whom believers turned for help, released a bird into the temple and called on Apollo to kill it as proof of his connection with God. The bird died, confirming the power of the clergyman. The Temple of St. Philip , built in the 4th century, the Sanctuary of Pluto - a place considered in ancient times to be the entrance to the underworld, the Hierapolis Museum with beautiful ancient statues and bas-reliefs, sarcophagi and a collection of ancient coins.

Cleopatra's pool

The origin of the open-air jacuzzi is man-made; marble fragments of Roman baths still lie at the bottom of the reservoir. The reservoir is divided by a rope into two halves - deep and shallow. The maximum depth of the pool is 3 meters, the water temperature is +34... +36°. In the shallow part of the reservoir you can relax, sitting on large stones. For the comfort of visitors, the pool is equipped with ropes on which it is pleasant to hang and relax.

Lake Salda

In the southwest of Turkey, on the site of a former volcanic crater, there is a reservoir with the purest water . An unusual place filled with transparent energy, surrounded by mountain slopes, a sandy beach and pine trees, is rightly called the “Turkish Maldives”. The turquoise water and white sand of the beach complement the seven crystal white islands in the lake and create a luxurious landscape. According to legend, it is believed that the composition of sand and clay at the bottom of the lake is similar to the composition of Martian soils.

Flying over the travertines

After enjoying the ancient city, you can take to the sky in a hot air balloon and get a special aesthetic pleasure from a bird's eye view. At sunrise and sunset, see the plateau when the snow-white travertines turn pink.

Magic of Sultanite

Along the way you will find a stone factory , the exclusivity of which is the processing of sultanite, which has the beauty of a changeable color like a chameleon and is known for its properties. Jewelry with sultanite was worn by rich Arab sheikhs and rulers of eastern empires. It was believed that the stone could transform and enhance the beauty of a person. Therefore, this mineral was certainly present among the jewelry of aristocrats of past centuries. According to legend, the powerful energy and bewitching play of the facets of the sultanite helped resolve important political issues, and the ring given to the beloved united hearts for many years and contributed to harmonious love and understanding.

Wine cellar with tasting

A piquant end to the trip will be a visit to the wine cellar, where grapes caressed by the Mediterranean sun are turned into white and red wine. The recipe and manufacturing process have been kept secret for centuries. The technology is maintained to make the drink magical, with a rich, deep taste. Among the reds, Boğazkere and Öküzgözü , and among the whites, try Emir .
Wines are affordable. You can ask to pack it for your luggage on the plane.
